Yr 6, 7 & 8 Girls & Boys Softball Tournament:

Kia Ora and this is a recount about want happened on Tuesday 3rd of March which was yesterday. Tamaki Primary students year 6 - 8 boys and girls participated in the Eastern Zone Intermediate softball tournament which was hosted at the Auckland Domain.

The first thing we did was we had to meet at the hall at 8:10 am in the morning, once everyone was in the hall we all were split into our teams and then we made our way out to the bus waiting for us outside. At 8:30 am we had left for Auckland Domain. Even though the clouds above in the sky weren't looking to promising we still had high spirits about the game.

When we arrived some of the students had to help the teachers carry all the sports equipment out of the bus. In our year groups we lined up and walked straight to the gazebo where the sports event co-ordinators were seated. As soon as all the schools were settled and the co-ordinators gave their speech we all made our way to the diamonds where we going to play at. The year 8 girls team had a pretty rough start because we had lost a game to Ellersie Intermediate.

After the game the team was a bit disheartened that we had lost our first game but we still held our heads high because we still had another 4 more games to go. When we had finished having our morning tea we all got ready for the buzzer to go off. Our next opponents was St Heliers Intermediate, we had a massive improvement when we won 18 - 2 innings. After a taste of victory we were thriving as we won against our third opposition.. Church Hill Park School 19 - 6 innings.

It was lunchtime and we all were puffed out because we had so much adrenaline pumping through us. Together as a team we played hard against Parnell School, they were tough but in the end we had a close win of 7 - 6 innings. Tired and exhausted we had a break, ate as much as we had in our lunches and went to diamond 3 for our final game against St Thomas. Although we were all too tired and drained out of energy we still managed to have tie of 7 - 7 innings.

Once that was all over we went to watch the year 8 boys in diamond 1 play against Stanhope Road School. The boys looked tired toward the end of the game as they had lost by a bit. On the road back to school we had a good deserved rest.
